Ersta Hospital is part of Ersta Diakoni and is Sweden's largest non-profit hospital with a clear value base – to see the whole person. For 175 years, we have provided healthcare in Södermalm, Stockholm, but we welcome patients from all over the country. Here we offer high-quality, specialized healthcare with both breadth and expertise. We are a university hospital unit and conduct research, education, and development in collaboration with Karolinska Institute. We are growing to help more, and since 2023, the hospital's capacity has tripled, and eight new operations have started.

The Cardiology Clinic is part of our medical clinic and offers scheduled visits on weekdays for patients in need of specialized care in cardiology. The clinic is modern and well-equipped with well-developed patient flows. By using our resources in the best possible way, we can offer evidence-based and person-centered care of the highest quality.

We are now in an exciting phase with a strong focus on development and growth, where we are expanding our cardiology mission, increasing our research activities, implementing e-health, and focusing even more on person-centered work. We are also preparing to launch a clinic for clinical physiology, which will be located in the same premises as our cardiology clinic, providing good conditions for close collaboration between diagnostics and clinic.

About the role

As a doctor with us, you will meet patients in need of cardiological specialist competence for new and follow-up visits. The most common diagnosis groups are arrhythmia, heart failure, ischemia, valve disorders, and hypertension. We also perform preoperative investigations, electrical conversions, and echocardiography.

We collaborate with the hospital's other clinics, including our own intensive care unit and primary care.

We are looking for someone who enjoys outpatient work and likes to work as part of a team.

Your experience

We are looking for someone who:

• is a licensed physician with specialist competence in cardiology

• has broad general cardiology experience

• can independently perform and interpret echocardiographic examinations.

Research experience and dual competence in internal medicine are meritorious. We view positively if you have experience with pacemaker clinics.

When recruiting specialist doctors/assistant chief physicians/chief physicians to Ersta Hospital, an expert assessment is conducted where your application will be shared and evaluated by external experts on behalf of Region Stockholm.
